Matariki Te Oro

Today my class and I started our morning by going to a place named Te-oro. My class and I got told  to follow our teachers outside the gate to the place that we were going to. When we first entered the place it was so bigger than I expected. We followed a women that was waiting at the door way for us. She lead us through  a hallway with so many maori culture pictures hanging from the wall. We saw pictures of performances that were going on in the room we were about to enter. When we meet the door that lead to the room. The woman in front of us told us that we had to take our shoes of and told us the rules before entering the room. Before we were about to enter we remembered to take our shoes of and then enter so that was what we all did. When everyone entered there were individuals sitting on a chair and a nice, comfortable carpet on the floor for everyone to sit on. When we all sat on the mat everyone listened to the seven people singing a maori song. After that we did a bunch of fun activities like learning how to do different maori patterns, creating patterns on clay. When it finally came to the end we all came to the middle and circled around the mat  to  sing  a maori song while dancing to it. After that every group got up and explained what they learned from what they experienced.  When every group was done explaining we all left with the clay we made.
