Our Small World.

Hello, my name is Teresa leu.

I come from the small Island of Tokelau. When I was a teenager, I chose to expand my knowledge by moving between the countries of New Zealand, Australia, and Korea for over fifteen years getting the right experience and qualifications that were needed to help my people back home in Tokelau. I am also a nonsmoker and nondrinker and eventually became a (fakaofa) senior Police Officer and the first single mother with a beautiful adopted baby boy.

My main responsibilities as a Fakaofa (top police officer) are to provide the community with the sources and help they need and also keeping citizens of Tokelau out of our jails permanently. Aside from my full-time responsibilities I also have home responsibilities which is my adopted son, making sure that he is taken good care of 24/7. Therefore the values that help me achieve the responsibilities that are put in place is having huge respect for the community, self, and especially our eldest people of Tokelauan. Dedication is also another value that I live by because it helps me push to get work done and making little changes become big changes in the future.

One of the main reasons why I returned to Tokelau is because I owe it to the people that gave me the opportunity to go overseas and gain knowledge and experience. I was able to help the community and help my people defeat the challenges on the island. I got a job and became a (Fakaofa) top police officer but, the parliament didn't accept females doing males jobs, so they fired me, but I did not fight back or argue because I respected them. I had an airline and he helped convince the parliament to accept me as a police officer. Three days later I got the note to have the job back, so I happily accepted the position without disrespect. Once a month we do community visiting ( the whole village comes together) for the old age who are unable to see each other due to health issues or old age issues. Other times we give them Tokelauan traditional food, money, and palangi food (white people's food), this is so they can have a long life. Community visiting also includes dancing and singing to keep the community energetic and happy.

My future aspiration is for knowledgeable people to come back and help me and the community make Tokelau a better place for the upcoming generation of Tokelau. I hope that those who left would come back and keep Tokelau alive.

The Four Survivors.

In Social study's my class and I got put into groups of 4 and planned what we needed to survive on an island, stranded in the middle of nowhere. When we were done we created a story about our project. Here is the full story of my and my group's project.

On a boat, there were four survivors named, Stanley, Paerau, Ocean, and Sione.  They survived 2 days on a boat with a medkit, water, food, compass, matches/lighters, plates/cutlery, blankets/pillows, and spare clothes.

The next day came by and Stanley, Ocean, Paerau, and Sione were still safe on the boat. 2 hours went by and suddenly a storm came by causing the boat to smash through the giant waves and into the dark, deep sea.

The four got washed ashore on an island with all their things, stranded in the middle of nowhere. Stanley and Ocean decided that we had no choice but to live on the island. Paerau was the most accurate and responsible so everyone decided to make her the leader.

The island had everything to survive so everyone got a task that they had to do, Stanley was in charge of cooking and cleaning well Ocean was in charge of finding wood, Sione was in charge of making the map and finding shelter while Paerau was in charge of hunting, killing, healing and making sure that everyone was safe.

While Sione was exploring he found out that on the other side of the island there was another group of people so retreated back to the place where everyone was and told the leader everything. the leader told Ocean and Stanley that they would have to kill but they did not accept because violence is not the answer. As the leader, Paerau could not help but secretly go on a killing spree alone in order to save her people.

The next morning Paerau came back with supplies, medkits, and clothing. The other three were wondering where Paerau got all the supplies but she didn't answer and told them to go back to work.

Four hours slowly went by and a bunch of pirates came to the land. Paerau couldn't lose any of her mates since she was the leader she started to make plans. Ocean, Stanley, and Sione would sneak in while they were having their parties and loot their things on their ship, Once we loot everything, we make them surrender with their weapons and kill them afterward.

This is the end of our project and now we had to make a blog talking about what happened in our project.
